Lads, you may be aware that the NRA is preparing a major upgrade of
the N81 from Hollywood to Tallaght. Part of this involves bypassing
Blessington, and they have come up with 3 or 4 route options.
Several of these go RIGHT THROUGH our rented lands at Crosschapel.
As part of phase 1 of the consultation process, about 12-18 months
ago, I made a submission indicating our presence and concerns etc. Now
they have progressed to phase 2 of the consultation stage, and they are
STILL considering taking the route through our pitches, see here:
There are public
consultation meetings (1) today at Poulaphouca House, 1pm-8pm, and (2)
tomorrow at Avon Ri, 1pm-8pm. These are outlined on the website above,
in the pdf brochure.
I urge you all to attend one or both to express our concerns re
this route, which would have potentially devastating consequences for
us. I plan to go to Poulaphouca House tonight for about 7pm, it would be
great to have a large group of us to go at them together. If necessary,
I’ll go to Avon Ri tomorrow evening as well.
With reference to the above game we would like to alert you to a
special offer which would allow your club to attend the match at the
following prices.
