Snowy's Poetry

From: Elizabeth E. Castill , Posted Date: Jul 11th, 2011

My poetry started doing its own course during my teeny bopper days...the innocence of youth...a shy, unassuming lass whose weapon is her pen... I didn't believe much in myself then and so the vast collection of poems were kept hidden..until I had the chance to publish some on a University's school paper and a magazine on a national circulation...I'm planning to publish a collection of poems though in the future but for now opted to share them first online through the ezine... =)

When I was very much younger, I was fond of fairy tale romance and sweet nothings from books I've read and movies I've seen and so most of my poems were about Young Love and teen crushes. I had a classmate before , a girl whom I recall saying " I think Elizabeth is the only girl here who doesn't have a crush!" Well, she is mistaken how can I write such mushy ones  if I haven't experienced yet the giddy feeling of having innocent crushes! (Lesson" Don't underestimate those shy and quiet people. They may know more than you!") :P

My poems have evolved now, from those lovey dovey ones to different observations of the world around me although I still compose mostly about LOVE. What more can an inspired poet write about than what's making her heart skip a beat? =)

I compose mostly in free verse, just letting my thoughts envelope me then allowing the words to flow. Poetry is likened to "painting" though dancing words with different  rhythms of their own are used instead of a brush.
